Eric is 19 years old and majoring in computer science at Bakersfield College. He will be transferring to UCLA next year. Eric has Cerebral Palsy (CP) and receives SSDI, Medicare, and Medi-Cal benefits. The past two summers Eric worked part-time and earned $300 per month. This summer he has an opportunity to work at a different job and earn $1500 per month.

After hearing that his past and current earnings may affect his benefits, Eric talks to a benefits planner through the Independent Living Resource Center and learns about SSDI Work Rules and Medi-Cal’s California Working Disabled Program.

You may find some similarities between Eric’s experiences and your own. If you have questions about anything you read in Eric’s story, contact your local benefits planner.
