December 10, 2015 Most years, Social Security makes small adjustments to its benefits programs based on how much the cost of living has gone up. These are called Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA). However, in 2016 there will be no changes to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) based on COLA, because Social Security says that the overall cost of living has not gone up during the last year.
