June 1, 2019 In the past, Californians who got Supplemental Security Income (SSI) could not also get CalFresh benefits. Starting on June 1, 2019, if you get SSI, you may also get CalFresh, if you meet all other CalFresh eligibility criteria. This change will not affect your SSI and SSP (State Supplemental Payment) benefits in any way. You may need to apply for CalFresh. Learn more about this change and check if you qualify.
